The members of the Presidium of the Polish Chamber of Commerce have decided to appoint Mr Marek Furtek as the president of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce for a third consecutive term.
He is connected with the Court of Arbitration of the Polish Chamber of Commerce not only as an arbitrator but mostly as its president. He has recently been appointed for another term of office. This re-election comes as no surprise to anyone. “Mr Furtek is an experienced arbitrator and an excellent lawyer. He also possesses strong organisational skills. Therefore, I think that his third term of office will be very successful and will greatly contribute to further development of the role of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce,” says Professor Józef Okolski.
Mr Furtek adds: “Serious projects are implemented over years and not months. That is why the third term is an announcement of further realisation of the objectives that I defined in 2009, which is when I became the president of the Court of Arbitration at the PCC for the first time.” He emphasises that the project mainly entails activities aimed at strengthening the position of the court so that it can offer high-level services, as well as scientific and educational activities.
He adds that it will also be vital to create a legislative environment that fosters the development of arbitration in Poland. His new term of office also coincides with the time when the new rules of arbitration (which are a response to changes in law and arbitration practice) come into effect.
